Permission for Solar Energy Projects in India

Minister of New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah informed the Rajya Sabha that there is no requirement of getting “go ahead” from the Government of India for setting up solar projects. There are some schemes under which some support is provided as per guidelines contained therein. The Government is encouraging setting up solar energy projects.

Angola: Solar Panels Turning Dirty Water Clean

Luanda — The brightly painted old shipping container with solar panels on its roof and high-specification filtration devices inside looks out of place in this dusty Angolan village of Bom Jesus, 50 kilometres east of the capital Luanda.

But it will soon be providing nearly 20,000 litres a day of clean, drinkable water to the area's 500 residents who currently rely on dirty supplies from the nearby river.

Rays of sun bounce off gleaming mirrors on the tiny Lake Colignola in Italy, where engineers have built a cost-effective prototype for floating, rotating solar panels.

Alex Green Energy Wins India Solar Project With Record-Low Bid

Alex Green Energy, a Kolkata-based developer of clean-energy plants, won the right to develop a 5- megawatt project in a solar auction in India’s eastern Odisha state, pledging to supply power at a record-low rate.
